Peace, Love, Surf

February 22nd, 2012

Surfing is one of the greatest sports in the world. The feeling of a rising wave lifting you up to glide over the water is a feeling unlike any other. This is as close as many people are able to get to nature without actually becoming a part of it. The feeling of the board sailing over the wave is magical. It is easy to see why surfers never come out of the water. There are many types of surfing from long boards built for easy riding to short boards designed for performing tricks. Surfing is also a sport enjoyed around the world. The best spots are found in the Pacific from California to Bali. However, there do exist in France, England and even Alaska. If you meet another surfer, you have an unspoken bond. You both know something that many people will never experience. Surfing is more then just a sport, it is a lifestyle.

How to Get into a Fashion Show

February 21st, 2012

Every fashion crazy girl must attend a fashion show at least once in their life. The experience is surreal as you watch the models walk down the runway wearing works of art. Often, a famous supermodel will be walking or a celebrity will be in the crowd. The bigger the brand the bigger the hype. If you want to attend a fashion show, you have a better chance of going to a smaller designer then one of the big fashion houses. Often, these smaller designers have exquisite work just waiting to be discovered. If you are up for an adventure, look for small designers who are showing in your area. You may be able to attend the show without an invitation. Just look the part and they may think you are someone important! When in doubt, you can say you are a fashion blogger writing about rising brands.

The Evolution of Halloween Traditions

February 20th, 2012

The beauty of fall combined with kids in costume going door to door for treats makes Halloween a festive time of year. It’s the one time when it’s socially acceptable to scare someone out of their wits; some people go out of their way to find the scariest attractions during this time of year. TV shows take on spooky and bizarre themes, and let’s not forget classics like “It’s The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown”. While the scary traditions of Halloween have gone on for decades now, the real dangers of this day and age have led to a change in the way parents allow their children to celebrate this holiday. Parents now have to inspect candy, and closely monitor their children during trick or treating because real life horror stories have happened. Halloween night traditions are still kept but how long will it be before new traditions are adopted.
